Hi All,

If you guys haven't already heard of us, Jom Makan is a Malaysian restaurant located in Trafalgar Square, London. We serve Malaysian cuisine that combines the best traditional dishes from family kitchens & the infamous street hawkers of Malaysia but has also incorporated some Western influences for a fresh & balanced offer. Take a look at our website at www.jommakan.co.uk & be sure to join our facebook page for the latest news.

All students receive 25% off the food bill all day every day when you show your student ID or NUS card. We are really good value for money anyway (take a look at our menu) so it wont stretch the budget too much!

We also have a function room which seats up to 40 people/60 standing which i can offer to you guys for free hire, if you have any event, gathering or party planned have it at Jom Makan.

Sorry for the long message i just wanted to make sure you all know where we are & that we would love for you to come & eat with us.

P.s We are also set to open our second restaurant at Westfield shopping centre in London on October 22nd.

Any questions, bookings or enquiries drop me a message on facebook or you can email us at info@jommakan.co.uk & i look forward to seeing some of you very soon!

Terima Kasih jumpa di jommakan.

Oooh, ive been to that place. Very high class restaurant. Right at the corner of Trafalgar Square. Not very easy to spot. Good atmostphere, nice environment and open kitchen, has introductions to various malaysian food as table mats, the menu contains variety of staple malaysian food like rendang, nasi lemak, nasi briyani, teh tarik and more!

Oh did i forget to mention how the food was?? Because to be honest, it was like sh!t. Well, thats too harsh i guess. Overall, the food was nice and can easily compare to the original version in mamak stalls. Just that the price is super expensive relative to its proportion.

I think it will be worth it if you got 50% discount vouchers, which they occasionally hand out in trafalgar square by its staff. So if you want to try it out, look out for their staff in traditional costumes handing out those vouchers and you can get yourself a reasonable deal.

P/s: Their beef rendang is a must-try!

like ksl656 .. i wouldnt really recommend that place. It's self-proclaim as Malaysian restaurant but really their target customers are local Brits... so most of the foods have been westernized (imagine, roti canai doesnt come with any curry... )..

but they do have some authentic dishes -> beef rendang, satay and roti canai (even though no curry, still the roti is authentic compared to other places who serves roti paratha as roti canai)

an another thing is dont go during peak hours coz their staff will pressure u to finish ur food fast.. especially if they have customers waiting outside. once their manager shouted at us asking us to leave... that's definitely a let down

i would suggest better go to Malaysian Hall Canteen or Satay House down in picadilly... now THAT'S AUTHENTIC!

Means many people still like going there eat?

That's the problem in London, we can't eat and chill.. we have to eat and ciao..can't even have a chat

So overall how's the food there? Very expensive right?

I actually prefer eating at Malaysian Hall than the one PM open. Cheaper, but the space is really small, the roti canai is like a biscuit size lol
